Edgefield County, SC—Edgefield investigators say, for the first time in about two months, burglaries in the southside area appear to be slowing down.

About $200,000 worth of stuff have been reported stolen from home- and business-owners since April.

Last week, officers arrested Robert Webber.

They say he was detained by a homeowner, after being caught in the act, stealing some jewelry and a fire-proof safe.

Investigators tell us for the first time in weeks, there were no burglaries reported over the weekend, on the southside of the county. They will not comment on whether Webber is being investigated for other area burglaries.
