Blount County, TN -- George Blevins, resident: "It just started coming and dust all going everywhere."
George Blevins walked outside Sunday morning to get his morning paper... by the time he went inside, he had seen all the news he could handle...
Blevins: "It was a bad bad slide...And it come all the way, you could hear it come across the road and hit the guard rail and everything. Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!"
Driver Andy Edmonds says he was watching law enforcement and our news crew on the side of Highway 129 when "the dragon" took a bite out of his car.
Andy Edmonds, driver: "I'm okay. Man, I didn't even see it! I came around that curve, right there, and noticed you all. And, I didn't even notice that rock fall right there. I'm lucky to have hit it in a way to not get too hurt. My dog here, she probably took a pretty good hit, but she's all right."
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (T-DOT) is asking drivers to look for an alternate route around Highway 129... and other another rock slide is exactly why Jonathan Ball was on 129 in the first place.
Jonathan Ball, tourist: "Yeah, we were avoiding the rock slide on 64, coming out of Cleveland. And now, we're coming down this route and well, you can see over there it's another rock slide. Your country is falling apart. It's going to block the road a while because it will be harder to clean out than it looks. There's a big stone in there... big stone."
