SACRAMENTO (AP) - Dave Walker and Lois Hart, a rare husband-and-wife news anchor team, will end their 18-year run at a Sacramento television station.

Walker and Hart will retire from KCRA Channel 3 on Nov. 26, at the end of the ratings sweeps month.

The pair anchored CNN's first newscast in 1980, a year after they were married. They returned to Sacramento in 1990 to lead what often has been the region's top-rated newscast.

The pair met in Sacramento in the 1970s. Walker, who is 67, already was working as an anchor when Hart, now 58, arrived. They plan to stay in Sacramento after they retire.

The station did not name a replacement team in its announcement this week. Walker says he expects veteran Edie Lambert to pair with Gulstan Dart, who was hired in August.
